Through the testing and
development of
diabetes supplies and medications, the staff at The Waltham Diabetes
Center along with MassResearch,
have been validating new technologies
for more comfort, ease of use and improved quality of life. The
following are some of the improvements the WDC and MassResearch are
working on:
less painful lancets and needles
neuropathy specific pain medications
vacuum assisted blood sampling new
antidiabetic compounds
inhaled insulin
oral insulin
insulin delivered by skin patch
smaller, easier blood glucose meters
The need for volunteers to test these new drugs, devices and supplies is
paramount for these technologies to reach people with Diabetes.
